We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Product Development to lead innovation and drive the development of cutting-edge products for the energy industry. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the full product lifecycle--from ideation to launch--ensuring alignment with market demands, regulatory landscapes, and the company's mission in the evolving energy space. You will collaborate across technical, trading, and operations teams to deliver impactful, customer-centric solutions that support energy trading, grid optimisation, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



Product Strategy and Vision:




Define and articulate a compelling product vision and roadmap that aligns with strategic goals in the energy market.


Conduct market research, regulatory analysis, and customer discovery to identify opportunities in areas such as real-time energy trading, renewable integration, and grid technology.
Monitor trends in energy transition, decarbonisation, and digitalisation to inform long-term product direction.

Roadmap Development:




Develop and maintain a strategic product roadmap reflecting energy sector priorities such as reliability, transparency, and operational efficiency.

Balance technical feasibility, compliance needs, and user experience to ensure timely, scalable delivery.

Leadership and Team Management:




Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of product managers, designers, and engineers with a focus on energy systems and technologies.

Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within the product function.

Product Lifecycle Management:




Oversee the end-to-end product development process across energy software platforms and data services.

Validate product concepts through user testing, prototyping, and feedback loops with stakeholders such as energy traders, utilities, and grid operators.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:




Partner with engineering, energy analytics, trading, sales, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration of technical and regulatory requirements.

Act as the product voice in external engagements, including energy market participants and technology partners.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:




Define KPIs to evaluate product impact on customer adoption, operational efficiency, and market performance.

Use data analytics to continuously improve offerings in response to user behavior and market signals.

Stakeholder Communication:




Provide regular updates to executive leadership on product development progress, opportunities, and challenges.

Represent the company in industry forums, client discussions, and strategic partner meetings.

Qualifications



Education:



Preferred is at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Engineering, Energy Systems, or Marketing). A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience:




Preferred experience of 8-10 years in product management or development roles, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.

Proven track record of launching successful, innovative products--ideally within the energy, utilities, or clean tech sectors.

Technical Skills:




Strong familiarity with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, ProductBoard).

Understanding of software development processes, APIs, data platforms, and Agile methodologies within energy environments.

Soft Skills:




Outstanding leadership skills with experience managing interdisciplinary teams.


Exceptional communication skills for engaging with stakeholders across both technical and business domains.
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights.

Preferred Skills:




Experience in energy market platforms, smart grid technology, or clean energy product development.
