Job Description


The Head of Product Electrical Services (ES) is accountable for the strategy, execution, and performance of the ES capability in Field Services spanning
1.4m customers and ~700 engineers.

In this exciting role you will be the product expert, share performance and product knowledge to influence and enable effective decision making. You will innovatively identify and resolve short- and longer-term performance improvement opportunities in order to deliver the best outcomes for our customers, whilst developing and delivering programs that recognise our commitment to our industrial relations and Trade Union partners.

You will work closely with the Director of Electrical Services to execute plans across our national field organisation, driving performance across customer and commercial KPIs. You will create a learning environment underpinned by root cause investigation and coaching. Through a combination of effective root cause analysis, data insights, best practice, and interpretation of operational/commercial/strategic objectives, you will identify barriers to effective customer delivery and develop strategies for improvement.

The successful candidate will be at ease owning and driving improvement, enabling significant and sustainable change across combined outcomes of cost base, customer, service and safety.

To be successful in this position you will need to identify and manage strategic risks, including regulatory and/or industrial relations. You will adhere to conduct, technical and safety standards; ensuring activities are aligned to our regulatory frameworks and ensure we are the safest technical workforce in the industry.

Requirements

Experience of driving significant commercial and/or margin improvement within a P&L

Experience of defining and setting strategy, translating this into meaningful goals and objectives and cascading through the organisation

A proven track record in driving significant and complex performance improvements, at pace, in a regulated and unionised multidisciplinary engineering environment

Experienced in visualisation with the ability to develop and utilise insight

An experienced people leader with a track record for leading and developing highly technical teams

Confident in positively challenging and coaching peers and senior leaders, in a cross-matrix organisation in order to deliver great customer outcomes

Experience of creating sustainable cultural change, including the embedding of continuous improvement

Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the gravitas to effectively represent and direct performance improvement and explain its purpose

A strong influencer with experience of working with a diverse stakeholder base; comfortable handling objections and negotiating a way forward

Commercially astute with the ability to prioritise decisions based on solving customer problems and improving the customer experience, in balance to commercial outcomes

Confident in ambiguous situations, with the capability and determination to self-lead appropriate programs of work that drive value

Can hold total accountability for their decisions and defend their priorities
