St Swithun's is seeking a well-qualified and flexible tennis and badminton coach to join our busy and successful sports department.
Tennis is taught in curriculum PE classes at the senior school. For students in KS4and KS5, tennis forms part of a cycle of sports options. The school also offers co-curricular tennis clubs and supports students attending matches and tournaments locally, regionally and nationally.?
Badminton is offered as an option to some year groups and as a co-curricular club. During the 2025-2026 academic year students have represented the school at badminton for the first time.?
Our head of racquets will work flexibly to deliver the requirements of the role and provide an outstanding experience for students. This is likely to involve longer working hours during the summer term than the autumn and spring terms, with some evening and weekend working expected for coaching and tournaments.?
The employed position of head of racquets is a part time, term time only position (35 weeks per year). Hours will be annualised across the year to account for a busier summer term, but there will be an average of 15 hours of work per week across the academic year. Some weekend work will be expected. ?
Additional work may be available on a self-employed basis through the St Swithun's Letting Company.
