We are seeking an outstanding and inspirational

Head of Sport Science

The Role




As

Head of Sport Science

, you will:

Lead, inspire and develop a team of dedicated teachers within a thriving academic department. Design and deliver an ambitious, innovative curriculum that engages and challenges pupils at all levels. Foster academic excellence through outstanding teaching, creative learning experiences, and rigorous assessment. Support pupils in achieving exceptional results at GCSE and A Level, including preparation for university and higher study. Contribute to College-wide academic initiatives, enrichment programmes, and pastoral care. Play a full and active role in the wider life of the College, including co-curricular and boarding activities.


You will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the department and play a key role in maintaining Marlborough's reputation for excellence in education and sport.

About You




We are looking for a teacher who is:

A

graduate with a recognised teaching qualification

and a strong academic background in Sport or Exercise Science. An

inspirational classroom practitioner

, with the ability to motivate and stretch pupils of all abilities. Experienced in

leading or contributing to departmental strategy

, with a clear vision for curriculum innovation and excellence. A confident communicator and skilled team leader, able to inspire colleagues and pupils alike. Highly organised, forward-thinking and committed to professional development. Willing to take an active role in the

pastoral and co-curricular life

of a busy boarding school.

Experience teaching within an independent or boarding environment, and familiarity with examination processes (GCSE/A Level/IB), would be advantageous.
