My client is a leading engineering consultancy based in central London. With a strong reputation for delivering innovative and effective engineering solutions, they pride themselves on their expertise in structural design and temporary works. We have a new opporutnity for a dynamic and experienced Head of Temporary Works Design to lead a dedicated team and drive forward their ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Temporary Works Design team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design solutions. Develop and implement strategic plans for the temporary works division, aligning with the overall goals of the consultancy. Oversee the design and checking of temporary works schemes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations. Conduct regular reviews and audits of temporary works designs to ensure safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and best practices, integrating them into the consultancy's processes and offerings. Represent the consultancy at industry events, conferences, and seminars, enhancing the company's profile and network.

Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field. Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IStructE). Extensive experience in temporary works design, including leadership roles within a consultancy or construction environment. Strong knowledge of temporary works design principles, standards, and best practices. Proven track record of managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and development. Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
