Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Server to join our dynamic team. The Head Server will play a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences by overseeing the dining room operations and leading the service staff. This position requires a strong background in guest services, food preparation, and culinary knowledge, along with excellent time management skills. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering outstanding service and will thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the front-of-house team to ensure efficient service delivery. Provide exceptional guest services by anticipating needs and addressing any concerns promptly. Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure adherence to food safety standards. Train and mentor new staff on restaurant procedures, menu items, and upselling techniques. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Assist in managing reservations and seating arrangements to optimise guest flow. Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and care.

Skills

Strong guest services skills with a focus on customer satisfaction. Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately. Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary standards. Understanding of food safety regulations to maintain hygiene in the restaurant. Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative when needed. Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment. Familiarity with kitchen operations to facilitate smooth communication between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
