Background

The post holder will lead on the planning and implementation of fitness products, health and wellbeing initiatives, and physical activities. They will take particular responsibility for the line management of the Duty Manager (Fitness), Fitness Instructors, and Personal Trainers, as well as the supporting the DM(F) with management and delivery of the group exercise programme. They will oversee facilities operation, service planning, and customer relations. The post holder will also lead and support on University-wide and Service events.
It is an exciting time to join the Sport and Leisure Fitness team as there are a number of core projects upcoming over the next few months and year. This includes expansion of our Performance Sport programme and provision for students, enhanced relationship work with educational providers delivering L2/L3 fitness qualifications, the introduction of corporate health packages, and a tender for the upgrade of the gym equipment and facility.
The Leisure Supervisor will also act as "Duty Manager" on occasion throughout the week with the responsibility for opening and closing the facility and supervising staff and operations. This will include mornings/evenings and weekends on a scheduled rota.
