Moody Meadows is a fast-growing holiday destination business, situated near Aberaeron. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
Duties
Act as the H&S lead, providing colleagues, managers and staff with clear guidance and practical advice on H&S related issues to ensure compliance with company policies.
Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
Provide training to employees on health and safety practices, including emergency response procedures.
Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents and accidents, including root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences, liaising with third parties as necessary.
Monitor compliance with safety regulations and ensure that all necessary documentation is maintained accurately.
Respond promptly to any safety concerns raised by employees and take appropriate action.
Requirements
Comprehensive experience as a Health & Safety Officer / Advisor or Manager or similar role in a fast-paced business.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads.
Proficient in conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues related to safety incidents.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
