We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Officer to oversee health and safety protocols within our organisation. Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits across all site crews.
Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices.
Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks for employees to ensure understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Investigate incidents and accidents thoroughly, preparing detailed reports outlining root causes and corrective actions.
Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure all staff are familiar with evacuation plans and safety measures.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training activities.
Collaborate with management to develop risk mitigation strategies and improve overall workplace safety standards.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Skills
Proven experience in health and safety management or related field.
First aid certification is essential; additional certifications in occupational health or safety management are advantageous.
Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation of incidents, inspections, and investigations.
Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills to engage with staff at all levels and promote a positive safety culture.
