(30,000 - 35,000 depending on experience)
Campbells Prime Meat Ltd, a Sysco company, is Scotland's leading meat, fish and delicatessen supplier to hotels and restaurants. In addition to our butchery and fish processing activities we also manufacture a full range of sausages, burgers, haggis, black pudding and smoked fish at our factory in Linlithgow which is open 24 hours a day, 6 days a week and located close to the M9, providing excellent links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Background
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join the growing Facilities and Health & Safety team at our site in Linlithgow. Reporting to our Head of Facilities and Health & Safety you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and legislation across the site, promoting a strong culture of safety awareness.
Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of effective health and safety policies and procedures
Carry out risk assessments and formulate safe systems of work
Assist and support with the investigation of incidents, accidents and near misses and track corrective actions
Manage and deliver health & safety training and toolbox talks
Conduct routine inspections, incident investigations and internal audits to ensure compliance with H&S and food safety standards
Ensure key compliance records are kept up to date
Manage PPE standards, permits-to-work system
Participate in statutory compliance activities such as fire alarm testing
Project support as and when required
Deputise for the Head of Facilities and Health & Safety as and when required
Any other reasonable request or duty as requested by the Head of Facilities and Health & Safety or Directors of the business
Ideal Candidate
Relevant professional qualification NEBOSH or equivalent (essential)
Experience in manufacturing or food production environment
Be reliable, committed and well-organised
Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Be an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills and be able to interact with anyone and everyone
Be able to manage time and prioritise workload effectively
Have a willingness to develop new skills and take on new challenges
Please note that this role is based on site, not a hybrid role, and as such own transport is required due to our location in Linlithgow.
Hours of work 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
