Mallatite Limited is the specialist manufacturer of lighting & traffic support structures, traffic signs and equipment and led message signs and sits within the roads division of Hill & Smith Holdings Plc.
Our main operation is based in Chesterfield (Derbyshire), albeit the role will have responsibility across our other UK Sites at Tipton (West Midlands), Gateshead (Tyne & Wear) and Rutherglen (South Lanarkshire).
Travel between sites is a requirement of the role, therefore a clean and current driving licence is required.
The role is responsible for ensuring full site Health & Safety compliance as well as the IMS functions, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 including policies, strategies, procedures, training, implementation, monitoring and reporting, including collaboration on sustainability and people, whilst mentoring business unit administrative resources.
This is a largely autonomous role, so it will suit someone who is a self-starter, is organised, wants to continuously improve and is keen to tackle the day ahead.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Champion a safe working environment, ensuring that all HSEQW requirements and procedures are adhered to, providing training where necessary
Nurture a positive community culture
Support the SLT & Colleagues in achieving the strategic plan for IMS
Being a role model for our core values and inspiring a culture where Safety First is the guiding principle in all aspects of our operation
Establish and/or improve upon a regime of audits and inspections which encourage a process of ongoing improvement in environmental and safety standards
Management of IMS portal linked to Hill & Smith. (Safety Cloud or similar)
Conduct weekly/monthly safety audits and challenging unsafe behaviours and recognising areas of improvement
Conduct all audits including internal and with external certifying bodies
To ensure that all standards and accreditations are maintained
Management of all quality procedures and non-conformances
Be fully conversant with the transfer of the standards applicable to the effective functionality design, manufacturing, and distribution operations
Undertake, implement, and manage site specific RAMS, PUWER, Safe Systems of Work and PPM plan
Proactively work with other areas of the business to develop HSEQ culture
Lead Investigations and closure of actions arising from Near Misses and other Safety incidents
Customer Service Investigations & Collaboration with Sales Colleagues & Stakeholders
Ensuring transport, loading and sites safety requirements are adhered to
Travel regularly to sites in Tipton, Gateshead and Rutherglen and/or as required
Mentoring & Management of IMS Support roles
Maintaining Risk Register
COSHH Assessments
Waste Management
Scheduling Occupational Health Screening, First Aid, Fire Marshall, and Mental Health First Aid Training
QUALIFICATIONS;
A current and clean drivers' licence is essential
NEBOSH Qualified or equivalent
IOSH Qualified or equivalent
Must be resilient, positive, with a can-do attitude
WHAT WE OFFER;
Annual Salary;45,000 - 50,000
Monthly Car Allowance or a Company Car
