Established in 2000 by former Registered Nurses, Allenby Douglas has proudly served the Oswestry community for 25 years. We were founded on a deep belief that the best place for someone to be when they are unwell or vulnerable is in their own home.
Our inspiration comes from Allenby Douglas Lummis, the father of our founder, Jenny Upshall. A former prisoner of war who endured the horrors of the Burma Railway, Mr. Lummis dedicated his post-war life to supporting his fellow veterans, visiting them in their homes and championing the importance of dignity and comfort in care. This legacy lives on in everything we do.
