Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being in various settings, including assisted living and hospice care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety during heavy lifting tasks. Support clients in maintaining their independence while promoting dignity and respect. Administer first aid when required and respond effectively to emergencies. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed. Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements

Previous experience in a support or care role is preferred, particularly in assisted living or hospice care settings. A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently. Knowledge of first aid procedures is essential; certification is a plus. A valid driving licence is required for transporting clients as needed. A genuine passion for providing high-quality patient care and support.
