, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall well-being of an adult male service user with physical disabilities. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, delivering compassionate and respectful personal care, supporting medication routines, and fostering a safe and positive environment that promotes the best possible outcomes for the service user.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care Assistance:
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene routines.
Support with toileting and incontinence care.
Provide mobility assistance, including safe transfers between bed and wheelchair.
Meal Preparation and Feeding:
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements.
Assist the service user with feeding at all times.
Emotional Support and Companionship:
Offer emotional support and engage in meaningful conversations.
Participate in social activities such as games to reduce isolation.
Medication Management:
Prompt, remind, and administer prescribed medications.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of medication intake.
Household Support:
Perform light housekeeping tasks (e.g., cleaning, laundry, tidying).
Assist with shopping and running errands.
Health Monitoring:
Monitor and observe the service user's health and behavior.
Report any changes promptly to the healthcare team.
Apply knowledge of Basic Life Support when necessary.
Communication and Documentation:
Maintain clear, timely communication with managers, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
Accurately document daily care activities and report concerns.
Compliance:
Follow individualized care plans and adhere to all health and safety, safeguarding, and infection control protocols.
Skills and Qualifications:Essential Skills:

Genuine care for the service user's emotional and physical needs.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication in English; Punjabi and Hindi speakers welcome.

Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.

Attention to Detail:
Strong observational skills to detect and respond to changes in condition.
Basic Medical Knowledge:
Understanding of hygiene, infection control, first aid, and safe medication assistance.
Essential:
Experience caring for someone with a
spinal injury
, including mobility support, repositioning, and understanding associated health risks.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Safeguarding of vulnerable adults
Food hygiene and meal preparation
Moving and handling training
First aid certification
