Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver personalised care tailored to each individual's needs.

Responsibilities



Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide patient care in various settings including assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care. Support individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia care, ensuring their safety and comfort. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients effectively. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary for client mobility or transport. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times. Document care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Qualifications



Previous experience in caregiving or support work is preferred, particularly in senior care or home care settings. Familiarity with first aid procedures is essential; additional training may be provided. A background in nursing or relevant healthcare qualifications is advantageous. Experience working with individuals requiring specialised care such as those with Alzheimer's or dementia is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families are crucial. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by client needs.
