waste management or environmental services sector
would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training and support will be given.
You will act as a key point of contact, handling enquiries, logging service requests, and supporting the smooth delivery of services with the operational teams.

: Helpdesk Operative
Role Purpose
The Helpdesk Operative is responsible for providing first-line support to customers, clients, and internal teams by handling enquiries, resolving issues, and accurately logging and tracking service requests via email and phone enquiries. The role supports operational efficiency and high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls, emails, and system-based enquiries
Log, update, and manage service requests using helpdesk and CRM systems
Liaise with operational teams to schedule work, resolve issues, and provide updates
Respond to customer queries in a professional, courteous, and timely manner to meet agreed SLA's
Monitor outstanding jobs and follow up to ensure completion and customer satisfaction
Escalate urgent or complex issues in line with company procedures
Maintain accurate records and produce basic reports when required
Support compliance with company policies, health & safety, and service-level agreements
Report directly to the Senior Helpdesk and Operations Management team
Skills and Competencies
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service focus and problem-solving ability
Good IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and helpdesk systems
Ability to prioritise workload and work calmly under pressure
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Confident in phone communications
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Previous experience in a helpdesk, call centre, customer service, or administrative role
Confident handling of customer enquiries via phone and email
Desirable:
Experience within the waste management, environmental services, or utilities sector
Familiarity with job scheduling, route planning, or service request systems
Knowledge of waste streams, collections, or environmental regulations
Additional Information
Full training will be provided
Some operational requirements at times will be requested to assist with for the needs of the business depending on operational requirements
