The role of Commercial Analytics Associate Director provides advisory and operational analytics business partnership to the Hematology (HEME) Commercial organisation within the International Headquarters (IHQ). They act as a trusted business partner, to inform commercial strategy and proactively enable the achievement of business goals.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic and hands-on individual who will be responsible for providing expert guidance, leveraging data and analytics to inform decision making. This includes a strong emphasis on progressing the Company's focus on "data-driven decisions" and continuing to advance our data visualisation capabilities.
This role reports to the International Director of Insights & Analytics for the Global Insights Analytics & Commercial Operations (GIACO) team, with a strong focus on cross-functional collaboration. The role will be based in Vertex's office in London Paddington and will work in close partnership with colleagues based in global, IHQ and local country teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Analytics Leadership
+ Develop and lead the international analytics roadmap for Hematology, delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
+ Provide analytical guidance to the International Hamatology VP and leadership team; contribute to brand planning, tactical execution, and strategic reviews.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
+ Partner with global and country teams to align on KPIs and support the development of robust performance dashboards using Power BI or similar tools.
+ Design and deploy both standardised and customised analytics solutions to meet the needs of diverse markets.
Data Governance & Quality
+ Define and maintain a high-quality data framework in collaboration with GIACO and Data & Technology business partners.
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and efficiency.
Forecasting & Cross-Functional Partnership
+ Collaborate closely with the HEME forecasting lead to inform short- and long-term patient forecasts through strong analytical support.
+ Actively contribute to cross-functional initiatives and working groups across international markets.
Change Enablement & Capability Building
+ Act as a change agent to improve data literacy and analytics adoption across commercial functions (marketing, sales, etc).
+ Lead training / best practice sharing to upskill regional and local teams on data tools and insights generation
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, biotech, operations or related discipline with extensive years of experience working in data analysis and insights generation.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Strong analytical mindset: demonstrated analytical approach to understand the impact of the way data and reporting are interpreted and utilised for decision making.
Strong systems and technical skills in advanced data analytics and data visualisation. This should include a deep proficiency in MS Excel (advanced functions and pivot tables), PowerPoint, and BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, etc.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex, evolving environment; focus on multi-tasking and self-prioritising workload.
Excellent ability to communicate and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. This should include a high level of presentation skills and the ability to translate complex outputs into clear, strategic narratives for senior leadership.
Ability to anticipate opportunities and challenges and thus proactively support shaping the strategy of the program while having a strong execution mindset
Change Agent - ability to drive and shape change management initiatives
Innovative and flexible approach - strive to find solutions outside the box
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex projects that require collaboration across functional and geographic areas.
Substantial prior commercial (or commercial excellence/Field Force Excellence) experience is a must. Exposure to Biotech/Pharma/Medical Device industry is highly valued.
