Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lorry Driver to join our transport team hauling straw form our holding sites to the power station with additional low loader work when needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires expertise in flatbed driving and a solid understanding of commercial driving regulations. As a lorry Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of service. Having experience with hauling straw, loading and unloading etc is an advantage but not essential training can be provided.

Accommodation and company car can be provided.

Responsibilities

Operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in optimal working condition. Load and unload straw and machinery securely, ensuring that all items are properly secured for transport. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and the power station regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays. Adhere to all safety protocols while on the road and during loading/unloading operations. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively at all times.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices. Familiarity with extended flatbed lorry (50ft) operations is essential. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills. Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation logistics. We are an agricultural contracting operation so we have plenty of work on all year with plenty going on so someone with common sense and a good sense of humour is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 60 per week
