Class 2 HGV Driver (32T Beavertail)*

We are recruiting!

IC Transport is seeking a professional driver to join our rapidly expanding team.

This role will be primarily focused on plant and access work on a 32T Beavertail vehicle, though there would be some crossover onto curtainsider work when required. IPAF training and previous experience is required for this role. IPAF training will be provided if necessary.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is quick to adopt new ideas and has excellent time management skills. The ability to communicate clearly and flourish as part of a team is also highly desirable. The candidate should have a proven track record in the use of GPS and routing software. Finally, the successful candidate will perform in an efficient and courteous manner at all times when working within the dedicated same day delivery industry.

Salary for this role is 15.00 per hour. Overtime is paid at 1.5x this rate.

Duties:

Carrying out deliveries and collections to and from various business premises. Completing the correct documentation when collecting and delivering goods. Verifying the contents of your delivery and taking precise instructions into account. Ensuring that the goods carried on board are secure inside the vehicle. Being comfortable with driving in heavy traffic or potentially unsociable hours. Clearly communicating with line managers and advising of delays, accidents and other traffic situations. Driving in a safe manner, while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations at all times. Completing regular in-depth vehicle inspections. Report any mechanical problems or defects found in your vehicle. Ensuring the vehicle is clean and well-kept.

Key Skills & Experience:

A valid UK driving licence with no more than 3 points. IPAF certification. Previous driving experience is a must. Valid CPC & Medical - qualified to drive Class 2 vehicles. Previous experience in operating or loading/unloading a variety of plant or access equipment. Excellent communication skills, both in-house and customer facing. Exceptional customer service. The ability to remain calm under pressure. A sense of pride in what we do, and to be able to carry yourself in a professional manner at all times.
