JOB PURPOSE

A Class 1 and Class 2 drivers are responsible for the security of the load they are assigned to transport. They are responsible for keeping to a schedule and ensuring that the goods are delivered intact, without damages and as requested by the customer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily vehicle checks for defects and report to workshop for repair Safely securing all loads/goods for transport with straps Coupling and uncoupling Unloading the vehicle (if required), ensuring the goods and returns are loaded safely and secured to minimize damage Moving load around on vehicle to create space to collect returns Ensure that the Transport office is kept informed of any problems such as delays, breakdowns, or delivery problems Carrying out relevant paperwork Making sure your cab and your vehicle is clean and tidy at all times Driving the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law, with tachograph regulations and driver hour limits Following all company Health & Safety guidelines and work to the company standard operating procedures Professionally representing Rawlings Transport whilst on UK roads

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must have a valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence Must have had previous HGV driving experience Must have a valid CPC / Tachograph licence Must be well presented and physically fit Must have no more than 6 points on your driving licence Must have excellent customer facing skills

WORKING HOURS:

40 hours per week

Salary range based on hours worked.
