HGV Grab Driver / Reinstatement Specialist

to join our team at our Widnes depot.

The Role: Key Responsibilities

You will be the core operator responsible for excavation, safe material handling, and ensuring quality reinstatement of the highway following street lighting works.

Excavation and Backfill:

Safely manage all materials, using the Grab wagon for loading/unloading and assisting with manual backfilling and material movement.

High-Quality Reinstatement:

Execute precise reinstatement work, including safe working practices around buried utility plant (cables, pipes, etc.).

Safety Critical Work:

Maintain safe operations near overhead electricity and telephone lines.

Site Management:

Be responsible for all necessary Signing, Lighting, and Guarding (SLG) of the work area to protect colleagues and the public.

Compliance:

Diligently follow all Safe Systems of Work procedures.

What You Will Need to Succeed

We are seeking a candidate with a strong safety focus and the following qualifications.

Essential Requirements

HGV Licence:

Full HGV licence with relevant authorisations to operate a Grab/Lorry Loader vehicle.

Experience:

Minimum of

1 year demonstrated experience

operating a grab wagon, ideally with a

clamshell attachment

.

Streetworks:

Valid

Streetworks Qualification Units 1-7

(or equivalent relevant modules).

Safety Certification:

Current

EUSR CSCS SHEA Power

card (or similar equivalent for utility work).

Driving Record:

Full, clean driving licence (minor points will be considered).
