Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Penygloddfa Primary School, Newtown, Powys, Wales
Salary: Grade 7
Contract Type: Permanent 30hrs per week Monday - Friday

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team at Penygloddfa Primary School. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support high-quality learning across the school, deliver planned lessons, and help raise achievement for all pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and motivated individual who enjoys working with children and is passionate about helping them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Support teaching and learning across classes, delivering lessons planned by the teacher or independently where required.
Work with individuals and small groups to support progress in literacy, numeracy and other key areas.
Provide classroom cover during teacher absence or PPA time.
Support the assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' progress.
Contribute to the creation of a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support pupil development.
Essential Requirements
HLTA status (or equivalent that is recognised in Wales)
Proven experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary or secondary setting.
Strong understanding of the Welsh Curriculum.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A positive, flexible and proactive approach to supporting pupils and staff.

Salary: Grade 7 Point 15 to Point 19 30,024 to 32,061 per annum pro rata 15.56 to 16.61per hour
