SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4 | Barnet Primary School

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with strong behaviour management skills and training in Makaton and PECS?
A welcoming primary school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate TA to join their team, supporting pupils in Year 4 with additional learning needs.

About the Role

Full-time position supporting pupils with communication and social interaction difficulties. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual learning plans. Use Makaton and PECS to enhance communication and engagement. Manage behaviour positively using proven strategies to create a safe, nurturing environment. Support classroom learning, small group work, and one-to-one interventions.
About You

Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly ASD and speech/communication needs. Trained in Makaton and PECS. Confident with behaviour management and able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly. Patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping children reach their potential. Previous classroom experience in a primary school setting is essential.
