Role

Our Contracts team ensure our teams deliver programmes of work to the client to time, cost and quality. The person delivering this role is responsible for working with our experienced teams to help them get the job delivered as smoothly as possible, our customers rely on us and we are only happy when the customer is happy.

The role requires an excellent understanding of highway maintenance, responsibility for safety, quality and environmental elements of the work being undertaken and the welfare of our employees and supply chain partners.

The role holder must be flexible, can travel and will travel.

Ensure all work is carried out to the required specification and quality standard

Improve and undertake site safety inspections, ensuring that findings and actions identified are documented and closed out quickly

Ensuring method statements, risk assessments, permits, daily site risk assessments are in place and briefed to all affected parties (including sub-contractors) before work starts, and that the safe systems of work therein are adhered to at all times.

Deliver Toolbox Talks/ Safety Briefings as required, ensuring all staff on site have received and understood the information delivered and have completed/ signed the register

Qualifications / Experience

Highway maintenance and Civils

Conversant with CDM / Principal Contractor duties

CSCS Supervisor Card

SSSTS or SMSTS Card

First Aid Certification

Person Specification

An understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation

Excellent working independently and within a team

Honest and trustworthy

Excellent communication skills

Genuinely enjoy being part of and contributing to our journey.

IOSH Certificate is desirable.

An understanding of lean methodology, improvement plans and the ability to work to clearly defined processes

Proven or practical experience of successful cost control and resource management.

Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation.

The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.

Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, however A-Levels or a Degree helpful but not essential.
