AtkinsR\xc3\xa9alis, Balfour Beatty and Egis Road Operations UK are part of a consortium, creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.

As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital\xe2\x80\x99s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing and operate and maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.

Role Purpose: To provide long term integrated asset management and value adding approaches.

Role responsibilities:

  • To develop and implement strategies and plans for the economic, efficient, and effective preservation of a diverse range of asset.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of an integrated Asset Management System.
  • To manage and progress (risk based) Linear Asset inspections and develop scopes of renewal and improvement to overcome defects which compromise asset functionality.
  • To develop and maintain asset plans of the entire network, using current asset systems / databases, including HAPMS/Agile.
  • To manage National Highways and internal database system requirements.
  • To develop systems to manage risk, Watchman reports and HAILs.
  • To assist the wider asset team in the management of other assets, as required e.g. signs
  • Identify and embrace change and promote innovation as the key to continuous improvement.
  • Undertake the prioritisation of inspections, if required
  • Adherence and improvement/update to inspection Condition Methodologies
  • Production, updating and delivery of the Asset Management Forward Plan/programme.
  • Review and development of Asset management strategies
  • Monitoring & analysing defects - formulating solutions where necessary
  • Managing renewal programmes and inspections for pre-defined assets
  • Analysis of condition data and production/update of \xe2\x80\x98hand back\xe2\x80\x99 / ongoing condition report.
  • Linear Asset Management including:
  • Analysis of inspection data and establishment of network Condition, reported against handback criteria.
  • Works to understand nature of asset behaviour and contributing factors.
  • Update database systems with all relevant information.
  • Undertake monitoring of known and emergent defects to assess deterioration and develop robust forward programmes.
  • Establishment of a prioritised 1-, 5- and 30-year forward plan of renewal activities
  • Key interface and liaison point for Third Party Works Contractors and in providing support to Communications Team in responding to HAILs, Watchman reports or otherwise.
Skills & Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of People management
  • IT skills-MS Office and asset management systems including HAPMS and CPS internal systems.
  • Substantial, practical experience of working within an asset and schemes delivery environment and have experience of report writing.
  • Experience with DMRB standards.
  • Experience with working in a NH Area type contract advantageous
  • Current UK driving license.
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders with demonstrable evidence of exhibiting influencing and negotiating skills.
