Job Title: Hire Controller

Location: On-site Hickstead, Haywards Heath| Monday to Friday, 10-hour shifts

We're currently looking for a Hire Controller to join our operations team in our Hickstead Depot. This role is central to the day-to-day running of our hire desk, ensuring effective scheduling, high standards of customer service, and efficient deployment of our fleet across key service areas including sweepers, tankers, and CCTV units.

What You'll Be Doing:

Act as the first point of contact for customer bookings and enquiries via phone and email. Manage daily logistics, including preparing schedules for drivers and conducting end-of-day debriefs. Handle bookings with accuracy, ensuring clear and thorough instructions for field teams. Work closely with operations and finance to assist with invoicing, reporting, and administrative duties. Support ongoing operational safety, customer satisfaction, and team development initiatives. Provide support to the General Manager and team leader with various day-to-day tasks.
What We're Looking For:

Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with customers and team members. High attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach to workload. A team player who can also work independently and manage time effectively. Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel; quick to learn internal systems. A proactive attitude and willingness to support training and improvement activities.
