Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant within ASD Resource Base
Location: Brynmawr Foundation School
Salary: Grade 6 (xc2xa332,115-xc2xa336,124) Pro Rata, Per Annum.
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (8am-3pm), 39 weeks per year.
10-place ASD Resource Base
The pupils, staff and Governors of Brynmawr Foundation School are looking for dynamic and forward-thinking HLTA to join our newly established Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Resource Base. You will be supporting the ASD Resource Base Leader to develop its curriculum and inclusive provision.
The successful candidates will form part of an enthusiastic team, communicate well with all stakeholders and play an active part in our inclusive school.
We are looking for someone with a passion for making a real difference, who is committed to developing inclusive provision within the Autism Spectrum Resource Base and across our school. You will be supported in your own professional learning and be part of our team with a passion for professional learning. By receiving high levels of support we expect high aspirations for all in our inclusive school where everyone is encouraged to achieve.
The successful applicant will have knowledge and understanding of curriculum in Wales, the Additional Learning Needs Act and ALN Code of Practice in Wales.

  • Demonstrates high expectations of children's attainment and behaviour for all learners in the ASD Resource Base;
  • Demonstrates the ability to support the curriculum for learners with ASD and Additional Learning Needs
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills to inspire, organise and motivate;
  • Has the ability to maintain and build partnerships with pupils, parents, staff, Governors and the local community;
  • Is a caring practitioner who truly places the wellbeing of all children at the heart of their practice;
