Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Play Leader to lead activities at our holiday club provision. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, and a passion for fostering a positive environment for both staff and children.
Role responsibilities:
Foster a high-quality, child-focused play environment that supports the diverse needs of all children and their families, including those with additional requirements.
Contribute to the efficient organisation and daily operations of the setting, adhering to the policies and values of Fun Fest.
Maintain a safe and stimulating environment by ensuring all toys and resources are used responsibly, well-maintained, and properly stored. Promptly report any damaged or worn materials to the Manager.
Supervise children with care and enthusiasm, planning and facilitating engaging play-based activities.
Ensure the play space is clean, tidy, and welcoming at the end of each session.
Prioritise the safety and well-being of children during emergencies, administering first aid as needed.
Accurately record and monitor children's arrivals and departures in accordance with agreed policies to ensure their safety.
Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers through clear and effective communication.
The Commitment:
This role is available on a zero-hour contract for Mondays - Fridays during the school holidays only, excluding bank holidays, from 7.30am - 6.00pm per day. Flexible working arrangements may be available.

We are looking for:Someone who loves to see children of all ages enjoying different activities and having fun. You'll be friendly and approachable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to work closely with the proprietor to ensure that the club organisation and administration is of the highest quality.
Essential Requirements:
Relevant qualification or working towards this (level 2 or 3 in an recognised Early Years Qualification)
Experience of working with 3 to 11 year olds
Knowledge of SEND
Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
Good communication skills
Ability to work on own initiative
Sound knowledge of Safeguarding requirements/duties.
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Value and understand the importance of play for children aged 3 - 12.
Have a child-centred focus.
Desirable but not Essential Requirements:
Full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
Driving License
Computer literate
Food Hygiene Certificate
We are committed to safeguarding; all staff will be required to have a DBS check and references before starting.
Specific Fun Fest Holiday Club training will be provided to the successful candidate.
