Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary for their well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings such as assisted living, nursing homes, and hospice care.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, and grooming Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety and comfort Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client health status Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being Support clients with daily living tasks such as housekeeping and laundry Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition Foster a supportive environment for clients with Alzheimer's or dementia through behaviour management techniques Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required

Experience

Previous experience in home care, senior care, or caregiving is highly desirable Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and nursing home environments is advantageous Knowledge of first aid practices and ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary A valid driver's licence is preferred for transportation responsibilities Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families
