Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those in need of care, including the elderly, disabled, or those recovering from illness.

Duties

Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition. Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary. Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversation and activities. Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment. Assist with childcare duties when required, ensuring a safe environment for children. Provide first aid as needed and respond appropriately to emergencies. Document care provided and report any changes in client health or behaviour to supervisors.

Skills

Proficient in patient care techniques and practices. Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Experience in home care or assisted living environments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility. Familiarity with hospice care principles is an advantage. Competence in meal preparation that meets dietary requirements. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for success in this role.
