We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Care Home Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care within a vibrant senior living community this is approximately a two month contact while our Deputy manager is on sick leave. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall management of the care home, ensuring that residents receive personalized, high-quality care that promotes dignity, independence, and well-being. Responsibilities
Assist the Care Home Manager in overseeing daily operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery across all departments.
Lead and supervise care staff, fostering a positive team environment focused on delivering compassionate resident-centered care.
Participate actively in the development, implementation, and review of personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia and memory care.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and internal policies related to assisted living, nursing home regulations, and health & safety protocols.
Manage medication administration processes accurately and safely in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
Support residents' social, emotional, and physical well-being by organizing engaging activities and ensuring their individual preferences are respected.
Oversee staff training programs to enhance skills in dementia care, Alzheimer's support, and working with people with developmental disabilities.
Assist in budgeting, resource allocation, and financial management to maintain operational efficiency while delivering quality care.
Monitor quality assurance processes through audits and inspections to uphold high standards of resident safety and satisfaction.
Act as a key point of contact for residents' families, providing updates and addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses and social workers to coordinate comprehensive resident care.
Support recruitment efforts by participating in hiring processes and onboarding new team members.
Qualifications
Proven experience in senior care environments such as retirement homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities; group home experience is highly desirable.
Strong background in long-term care management with demonstrated supervisory skills.
Knowledge of dementia care practices including Alzheimer's disease support strategies and memory care techniques.
Experience working with residents with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.
Excellent understanding of medication administration protocols within a regulated setting.
Competence in operations management including budgeting, resource planning, and maintaining compliance standards.
Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, motivate staff, and promote continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills for engaging with residents' families, healthcare professionals, and team members alike.
Relevant certifications such as NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care or equivalent are preferred; additional training in dementia or Alzheimer's care is a plus.
