Position Overview

We are seeking a

Casual Worker

to provide flexible support within our homeless housing services. This is a

zero-hour contract

role offered at an

enhanced rate

to cover staff annual leave and sickness. The position includes full training and requires strong IT, communication, and time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Provide housing support to individuals experiencing homelessness, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Assist with administrative tasks including data entry, record keeping, and reporting. Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and OneDrive effectively to manage information and documentation. Communicate clearly with service users, colleagues, and external partners. Maintain accurate records of interactions, support provided, and housing updates. Support team operations by covering shifts during staff absence due to annual leave or sickness. Adhere to safeguarding policies and confidentiality standards at all times.
Essential Skills & Requirements

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and cloud storage tools (OneDrive). Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. Excellent timekeeping and reliability. Ability to work flexibly under a zero-hour contract arrangement. Commitment to equality and inclusion when working with vulnerable individuals. Willingness to undertake training and continuous professional development.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:



Support Workers will be required to carry out risk assessments and create support plans for each tenant in their case load. Support Workers will carry out weekly supervision sessions with the tenants to ensure they are able to manage their tenancy effectively. The support sessions involve a number of services including:

Financial Budgeting Assistance with GP registration Signposting for drugs and alcohol support Accommodation search (Long Term Accommodation) Access to education provision Overcoming employability issues Avoiding rent arrears. Reducing anti social behaviour
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 13.50 per hour
