Crieff Hydro Hotel
Pretty much in the centre of Scotland, we're set in a 900acre estate in stunning Perthshire. Home from home, we've been welcoming generations of families for 150 years. We have 215 hotel bedrooms, 55 self-catering lodges, six restaurants and over 60 onsite activities - there really is something for everyone!
About the role
We're looking for an experienced Riding Centre Manager to lead the operations of our busy Riding Centre at Crieff Hydro. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre, leading a team of instructors and yard staff, and ensuring the highest standards of horse care, safety, and guest experience. We have a small, friendly team which you'll be leading and motivating, supporting their development and learning too.
With 45 horses and a 900-acre estate to explore, our facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas and beautiful hacking routes - making this a truly special place to work. We're proud to be an approved centre, offering lessons, hacks, and seasonal events to a wide range of riders.
This position is offered on a full time, 45 hour contract with a competitive salary of xc2xa335,000 per annum. Working hours are generally between 8am and 6pm, 5 days out of 7 with every second weekend off.
Please note the accommodation available cannot accommodate pets, but we do have contacts in the area for rental opportunities. There is the option to bring your own horse which can be discussed at interview.
Key responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the Riding Centre, including scheduling, team supervision, and workload planning
Manage staff rotas, horse workload sheets, and day-to-day yard duties
Ensure the welfare, training, and care of all horses, including schooling as required
Work closely with senior management and other departments to deliver a consistent guest experience
Take the lead on safety, compliance, and maintaining centre standards
What we're looking for
Proven experience in managing a busy riding school or equestrian centre
A recognised teaching/coaching qualification (BHS or UKCC Level 2/3 or equivalent)
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
Confident schooling a variety of horses and ponies
Organised, customer-focused, and comfortable working across departments
Flexibility to meet business and guest needs, including weekends and holidays
