We are seeking a passionate, experienced and knowledgeable Horticulturist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gardening, landscape maintenance, and horticulture practices. This role involves working outdoors to maintain and enhance various green spaces, ensuring healthy plant growth and aesthetically pleasing landscapes. Work vehicle can potentially be supplied for the right person.
Duties
Planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants to promote healthy growth
Installing and repairing irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage
Operating hand tools and power tools for planting, trimming, and landscape modification
Conducting regular landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, fertilising, mulching, and weed control
Monitoring plant health and identifying pests or diseases for prompt treatment
Assisting with landscape design projects and implementing planting schemes
Maintaining detailed records of plant health, treatments, and landscape modifications
Collaborating with team members to complete projects efficiently and uphold high standards of horticultural care
Vegetable garden maintenance/ pruning and picking.
Day to day, you'll be maintaining a 10 acre private property and giving a hand to some commercial planting projects as and when needed.
Experience
Proven experience in gardening or horticulture is essential; familiarity with landscape maintenance is highly desirable
Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems within a horticultural setting
Growing experience with various plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees is preferred
Knowledge of horticultural practices including soil management, fertilisation, pest control, and plant propagation
Previous work in gardening or landscape maintenance roles will be advantageous
A recognised qualification in horticulture or related field is a plus but not mandatory
