Job Overview


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hotel General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our hotel in Caithness, Highland.

The location is rural - north coast of Scotland so a car is essential as is the love of the outdoors versus city life!

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hospitality management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to delivering outstanding guest services.

As the Hotel General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all hotel departments while maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities



Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services. Implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction in line with company standards. Lead, mentor, and supervise hotel staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. Manage budgets, financial reports, and inventory control to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards. Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly and effectively to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the hotel's services and attract new guests through various channels. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as company policies. Conduct regular inspections of the property to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall aesthetics.

Skills



Proven experience in hotel management or a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively by leading from the front. Excellent guest service skills with a focus on creating memorable experiences for guests. Experience in human resources management including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to analyse financial data and make informed decisions to drive business success. A passion for hospitality and a commitment to upholding high service standards.
