The role

The Night Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth transition between the day and night shifts, maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our accommodation service users. The successful candidate will support the housekeeping team by performing various tasks across the site, including guest rooms, hallways, stairways, reception, and communal areas. There is the requirement to maintain a safe environment for guests, including conducting regular patrols and monitoring security systems.

Key Responsibilities

Support both dayshift and nightshift teams, by ensuring smooth operations across all shifts. Ensure all public and designated communal areas are clean and well-maintained. Respond to service-user requests in a polite and courteous manner. Assist with late-night operational tasks such as mopping floors, replenishing stock, setting up breakfast service and completing basic laundry duties. Report any damage or maintenance issues to the appropriate team to ensure timely repairs. Adhere to health and safety and management guidelines to ensure a safe and secure environment. Maintain the site's safety and security by conducting regular patrols, and addressing any safety issues promptly.

Skills and Experience

Experience in a hospitality, security, or housekeeping role is preferred, but not essential. Experience working night shifts is beneficial. Attention to detail and a commitment to high standard of cleanliness. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Quick thinking and the ability to resolve issues efficiently. Good communication and customer service skills. The ability to maintain a safe environment for guests. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
