Job Description

The candidate would preferably have hotel reception experience, but full training will be given.

This position is based on 40 hours per week (5 days per week) and includes a mixture of late shifts (2.30pm till 10.30pm) and early shifts (6.30am till 2.30pm). This post will include working some weekends and is done on a rota basis. The shift times are not negotiable.

The hourly rate for the post is based on candidate's age and experience.

Responsibilities:

To arrive for work on time 15 minutes prior to the shift start time to complete the necessary handover.

To acknowledge guests immediately in a warm, welcoming and friendly manner,

to answer the phone politely giving as much help as possible.

To carry out tasks effectively using the computerized system

Deal with reservations by phone, email, letter, fax, via online booking systems, or face to face

Check guests into and out of the Hotel, allocating rooms and handing out key cards. Sensible allocation of rooms to customers must be looked at having viewed all relevant guest requests/events at the hotel.

Prepare bills and take payments

Deal with requests from guests and any problems that can't be solved see the General Manager

Answering questions about the hotel and the surrounding area

Be a great team player

Must be passionate about customer service

To ensure that any additional requirements for guests are offered (early morning calls, takeaway breakfasts, packed lunches, dinner, BW reward cards, upgrades to breakfast etc.)

To ensure that all charges are posted correctly onto room bills

To correctly take messages for guests or staff ensuring that the correct details are recorded, if the message is not urgent put them in the relevant trays behind reception, if they are please hand to the person immediately or send an email.

Maximizing all sales opportunities at the desk, and passing on any new leads to the Sales Manager (registrations cards/ business cards etc.)

To attend meetings/training sessions as and when required

To carry out any reasonable request made by Management

To give full co-operation to any colleague requiring assistance in a prompt, caring and helpful manner.

To maintain regular and effective communication within your department and at all levels around the hotel

Handover to Receptionists and Night Porter's using WhatsApp groups. Go through any arrivals, early checkouts, setups etc.

To make sure that the Reception area is clean and tidy at all times.

Reception float and the change float must be correct at all times, any discrepancies must be reported to the Reception Manager immediately.

To help on the Bar when required (Applicants must be over 18 due to licensing laws)

Emails to be checked on a regular basis

Tasks to be completed as described on the Early/Late shift duties

Pay will be calculated in accordance with the successful candidate's experience
