Jesmond Dene House is an award-winning 4 Red Star hotel and 2-Rosette restaurant situated in a leafy suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 5 minutes from the City Centre. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, this historic property contains 40 bedrooms, a restaurant, and extensive banqueting and private dining facilities.

Priding ourselves on our levels of service, we are seeking a customer focused individual with experience in hospitality who can champion our four red star standards, providing the guests with a memorable experience.

Working in a fast paced environment, you should be an organised individual with great communication skills. No two days are the same, dealing with all requests both in person and over the phone makes for a varied day.

Hours of Work

We are looking for a Receptionist who has the ability to work on a flexible basis, with previous Hotel experience essential. This is a Zero hour contract and the ideal role for anyone looking to further progress in their Hospitality career.

Reception shifts are primarily between the hours of

07:00-15:30, 14:00-22:30 may also include Nights cover 22:30-07:00

Areas of Responsibility

Full knowledge of the hotel, our facilities and the surrounding areas Taking bedroom and restaurant reservations to a 4 Red Star Standard Checking guests in and out of the hotel Showing guests to their bedrooms at check in Dealing with all requests in person, via email and over the phone Upselling / cross selling of departments, offering table reservations to residents & promoting room upgrades Completing daily arrival checks, liaising with Housekeeping to ensure all requests are in hand Being aware of all VIPs checking in Have a full understand of what is happening in the hotel on the day, i.e. the daily functions & where to direct the guests Selling Gift Vouchers both by phone & in person
