Being based at the development to manage the development while providing a safe, secure and well-maintained environment effectively and professionally to Residents. Please note the House Manager is not required to provide nursing care. Duties will include:
Carry out daily cleaning of the communal areas
Communication with residents and other relevant external parties
Resolving issues and complaints
Dealing with phone calls/emails - IT literacy required for emails and processing of resident forms
Liaising with suppliers and contractors
Ensuring safety and security of building
Handling emergencies
Carry out safety checks (fire alarm etc) and oversee contractors on site
Management of guest room booking system and payment handling
Skills and experiences:
A passion for working with older people
Ability to work on your own initiative
The ability to be empathetic
Great customer service skills
High levels of motivation, flexibility and communication
Experience in a customer service or front of house role
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Good written and verbal skills to compile reports
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers and other key stakeholders
Academic qualifications are not essential, however, the jobholder must be able to communicate in a clear and articulate manner, be diplomatic and possess a degree of empathy with the Residents. A current First Aid Certificate would be desirable.
Experience
Although no previous experience as a House Manager is required, it is essential that the jobholder has had experience working with the public.
No job description can be entirely comprehensive, and the job holder will be expected to carry out other duties as may be requested from time to time which are broadly consistent with the job description.
