Part-Time Housekeeper - Highfield Care Home

We are looking for a caring and reliable

Part-Time Housekeeper

to join our friendly team here at Highfield Care Home.

This role is for

21 hours per week

on a

two-week rolling rota

, including alternate weekends and some holiday cover.

Our home has 23 residents who enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. Many of our residents are friendly and like to chat with staff as they go about their work, so a warm, approachable manner is just as important as good housekeeping skills.

Housekeeper Job Purpose

To help keep our home clean, safe, and comfortable for residents and staff, while meeting all housekeeping and sanitation standards.

Housekeeper Duties

Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops Making beds and changing linens Vacuuming and cleaning carpets Sweeping, polishing, and mopping hard floors Using cleaning equipment (mops, vacuums, etc.) safely and effectively Cleaning mirrors and glass surfaces Emptying bins and disposing of waste Keeping residents' rooms tidy and welcoming Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting low stock Reporting any necessary repairs or replacements

Skills and Qualities We Value

Previous housekeeping/cleaning experience preferred but not essential - full training will be given Willingness to learn new cleaning methods and use equipment safely Reliability, honesty, and integrity Organisational skills and attention to detail Energy and a positive attitude Ability to adapt to changing needs Good listening skills to ensure residents' comfort and wellbeing

Shifts

Monday-Friday: 8am-3pm Saturday & Sunday: 8am-2pm
