To assist the Cook in the preparation of meals, Washing of dishes, pots and pans, etc. To help with the cleaning of Kitchen and Dining Room. To help with the laying up of dining room for meals.
Housekeeping
To clean all areas of the Centre to the standard expected as directed by the Patterdale Hall Housekeeper. This will include common areas, bedrooms, toilets and showers etc.
To make up beds, wash linen, etc. in the laundry.
Ensure that guests are comfortable and have what they need for an enjoyable stay.
Work Pattern.
Work patterns are agreed and shared well in advance.
They include a mix of 5 main shifts of which the timings may vary slightly.
House' (8.00am till 4.00pm) - Daily housekeeping duties.
Kitchen' (7.00am till 10.00am and 3.00pm till 7.00pm) - Kitchen and dining room assistant
'Kitchen/House or House/Kitchen' - help with the dining room service and then change over the dormitories (7.00am till 3.00pm).
Evening Duty (3.00pm till 10.00pm) - Help with evening meal, some cleaning and making up packed lunches for the following day. Be the point of contact for the group in residence. Check and lock up the Centre before leaving.
General; Attend relevant training courses internally or externally to update skills and for the benefit of both parties.
It is expected that anyone employed will take a full and active part in all aspects of Centre life. This should include an interest in the groups in residence and a willingness to get involved with them where appropriate.
Comply with and promote the Foundation's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.
To be familiar with relevant policies and procedures and to take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the children and young people in School. Carry out any other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time within the context of the post.
