Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a vital role and is included as part of the homes team to ensure that a pleasant, safe, welcoming and clean environment is provided to service users, visitors and staff.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure that our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. You will lead a team of housekeeping staff, coordinate schedules, manage inventory, and ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:



To ensure, through supervision, the highest possible standard of cleanliness and hygiene is adopted for all private rooms and public areas, and laundry services within the home. Supervise and train housekeeping staff, including assigning duties, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations. To work in liaison with the Manager to maintain staff rosters and leave planning, to determine and maintain stores and stock needs relating to laundry and domestic cleaning. To manage the laundry procedures for resident's personal clothing, linen and other necessary items.To also provide a clean and hygienic environment for both residents and staff. To take care of the residents clothing, ensuring the correct collection, distribution and return of all laundered items. Inspect rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintained and complete audits. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for staff and residents. To adhere to Infection Control policies as appropriate for laundry and domestic cleaning to work in accordance with COSHH, Health and Safety and Local Authority regulations. To report any shortages, defects, damage, theft, breakages or hazards to the Home Manager. To maintain a welcoming and tidy environment for service users, staff and visitors; To ensure that service user's, comfort and dignity are met and maintained and that staff understand these needs and provide appropriate supporting care Identify and report any incidences of poor practice or abuse in line with the safeguarding policy. Escalate concerns/issues to the Care Manager as appropriate.
