We are seeking a qualified Housing Solicitor with demonstrable experience both in private and legal aid-funded housing matters to join our legal team. This is a demanding role requiring strong legal knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a caseload, both in privately funded matters, and publicly funded matters (in accordance with Legal Aid Agency requirements) independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct a range of housing law matters including but not limited to possession proceedings, homelessness appeals, disrepair, unlawful evictions, and injunctions
Provide advice and representation under both private work, and Legal Aid contract
Ensure strict compliance with legal aid funding criteria, billing processes, and LAA regulations
Represent clients at court, including emergency hearings and interim applications
Act as Housing Supervisor under our Legal Aid contract if required by us to do so.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records using CCMS and internal case management systems
Participate in the Firm's Business Development drive.
Essential Requirements:
Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate (England & Wales)
Minimum 2 year of post-qualification experience in housing law
Substantial experience handling legally aided matters
Proficient with CCMS and working knowledge of legal aid funding rules
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
