New Forest District Council are seeking an enthusiastic and well organised person to work within the busy Housing Options Team which is responsible for the Council's housing allocations, homelessness and housing advice services.

We have a great team of people for you to work with and are looking for the right applicant to join our colleagues already working to administer the Housing Register.
Duties will include:
Maintaining accurate computerised application data
Verifying applicants Housing register applications and housing situations
Allocating a priority banding to applicants
Writing and sending accurate written communication
Dealing with telephone queries and face to face visitors to the Council
Assisting vulnerable people apply to the register
Monitoring response deadlines and meeting specified target
Essential
Demonstrable ability to use IT systems and MS Office
The ability to work on your own initiative, organise your caseload and seek guidance when required
The ability to work under pressure and deal with sensitive issues.
The ability to interpret complex information
The ability to make sound decisions and exercise sound judgement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
Whilst previous experience of working in a housing department is desirable we are very interested to receive applications from individuals who can demonstrate the ability to transfer their skills to the housing sector.
