We have an exciting opportunity for a
HR Advisor
to join our brilliant team, playing a crucial role in supporting the delivery of effective human resources services across the organisation.
You will offer previous HR Advisor experience, ideally within a unionised environment, and preferably will be fully or part CIPD qualified (minimum Level 5 or above). You will be naturally inquisitive, not afraid to challenge, lead by example and have an honest approach to both employees and leaders. As a HR Advisor, you'll have the opportunity to develop your HR career with the UK's largest independent engineering and inspection business during a period of significant transformation.
What will you be doing?
Reporting into our HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and operational support on a wide range of HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, policy interpretation, and compliance. Acting as a trusted partner to managers and employees, the HR Advisor ensures that HR practices align with business objectives and promotes a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
You will:
Provide support and guidance to leaders on generalist HR topics including; employee relations, absence management, performance management, disciplinaries, grievances, terms and conditions, ensuring best practise and consistency of advice.
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and HR colleagues
Provide support in the development and updating of HR policies and procedures in line with legislative changes and best practise, including accompanying documentation and template letters.
Work in partnership with the HR Business Partner on complex HR issues to develop your own skills and experience.
Deliver a professional transactional and advisory service to employees/leaders ensuring all HR systems, processes, case handling information is accurate, timely and meets legislative requirements.
Be responsible for the provision of timely management information, providing accurate data, insight and analysis.
Support the team in managing the HR Mailbox, responding to queries from employees and leaders in a professional and timely manner
Be a valued member of our fantastic HR team, where we all work together to support business operations, taking a people centric approach.
As part of our team, you will get:
A starting salary between 30,000 - 35,000 (depending on experience)

To join our team, you will need:
Previous HR Advisor experience, preferably within a unionised environment
Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and demonstrable business awareness
Approachability and exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
Resilience, demonstrating confidence in influencing and negotiating - you'll need to be comfortable having difficult conversations
Experience in understanding detailed information, compiling and interpreting statistical data and communicating it to colleagues in a professional, clear, and concise manner
Experience of interpreting and analysing HR data trends, with the ability to make numbers make sense
Strong knowledge of the employee lifecycle
Experience in HR data management and record keeping
Highly effective, professional and adaptable written and verbal communication skills
Ability to operate comfortably within ambiguity whilst maintaining strict confidentiality
A naturally inquisitive approach, with the confidence to challenge
Ideally, you will also be:
Fully or part CIPD qualified, minimum Level 5 or above (desirable)
Experienced iTrent user (desirable)
