Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Advisor to join award-winning manufacturer Liniar Ltd, based in Denby, Derbyshire - a subsidiary of the US-based Quanex group.

Liniar is an industry leading PVCu extrusion company, designing and supplying a large portfolio of PVCu and aluminium profiles and products to a nationwide customer base of specialist window and door manufacturers, housebuilders, decking installers, landscapers and trade outlets.

Purpose of Role:



The HR Advisor will act as a key point of contact for HR-related queries, providing expert advice and support to managers and employees across the business. This includes playing a vital part in implementing HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and contributing to ER initiatives that support our people strategy and organizational goals.

Main duties and responsibilities:



Serve as the primary point of contact for general day-to-day HR queries and concerns. Advise and manage employee relations cases from start to finish, including grievance, disciplinary procedures, performance management and absence management, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes. Keep up to date and ensure compliance with employment law and regulations and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information. Develop, update and communicate HR policies and procedures. Coach Managers to build capability, encouraging them to think through issues and giving them confidence and knowledge to handle difficult and sensitive matters whilst ensuring they fully understand the risks and implications. Support the HR Business Partner and wider HR team in delivering people strategy projects, including employee engagement, wellbeing initiatives, change management activities and learning and development support. Foster a positive working environment and promote positive engagement. Support the employee life cycle by assisting with onboarding, induction, probation and other HR processes as needed. Assist with the transfer of temporary agency workers to the Company payroll. Provide advice on pay and benefits. Process contractual changes for payroll. Prepare payroll information for submission to HRBP for review and approval. First point of contact and respond to employee queries regarding Employee Benefits and Schemes: Salary Extras, Eyecare Vouchers, Refer a friend, EAP etc. Carry out exit interviews for leavers, analyse data and produce appropriate reports for review by HR Business Partner. Cover for the HR Administrator as and when required. Focus on continuous improvement by using HR data and metrics to monitor and report on trends that inform strategic HR planning. Ensure the HRIS system is accurately maintained and up to date, managing employee records in compliance with GDPR and data protection standard.

Key Skills & Knowledge:



Experience managing employee relations casework independently. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Strong verbal and written communication. Excellent at building and developing relationships at all levels. Demonstrable resilience and forward planning skills . High level of integrity and professionalism. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable.

Qualifications & Experience:



CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) or equivalent HR qualification. Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices. Proficient in MS Office, especially excel and experienced with HRIS systems. Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment is desirable.

Hours of Work:



Monday - Friday, 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m.

Full time, permanent

Flexibility is fundamental to ensure we have cover for our night shift operations relating to absence and ER case management.

There will be occasional travel to our manufacturing site in Coventry to support with HR related tasks as and when required.
