HR & L&D Manager - Full time or Part Time



Can be based in either Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick or Workington office

We are looking for a full time or part time HR & L&D Manager. (This role can fit around school hours).

The successful candidate will be joining a family run business, who are a multi award-winning firm of Chartered Accountants, tax and business advisors in Cumbria and Lancashire, led by the same senior management team and partners for the last 25 years, supported by a hard-working high performing team.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and support in Human Resources issues to ensure the implementation of the HR Strategy in line with the operational plan at Lamont Pridmore.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Coach, support, mentor managers in the application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on HR issues.

To Support the business in attracting, recruiting, retaining and developing people order to meet the business requirements.

To ensure Lamont Pridmore managers its people appropriately so as to adopt best practice and comply with employment legislation, mitigating any risks to the business.

To assist and advise managers, employees and clients on HR related issues.

To provide specialist advice (internally and externally) on a range of HR issues when required and provide support during meetings.

To implement agreed company HR policies and procedures.

Implement quality procedures and continuous improvements.

Create and review job profiles as required.

Take ownership of Lamont Pridmore Group Training plan and develop training programs relevant to meet the needs of the business and individuals.

Assist with the annual salary review process.

Manage all employee change procedures in line with company policies

To ensure employee absenteeism is monitored and reported on a monthly basis and any issues dealt with at the earliest opportunity.

Liaise with 3rd party medical practitioners and Occupational Health providers

Manage the performance and development of all colleagues.

Input, maintain and validate personnel records on SAGE HR system

Draft Offer letters/contract of employment, invitation letters for disciplinary, grievance and redundancy meetings.

Skills

A relevant professional CIPD qualification would be preferred but not essential

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Strong knowledge of employment law

An ability to demonstrate good attention to detail

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion

Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft office
