Named the Large Farm Shop of the Year 2024 in the Farm Shop & Deli Awards, Welbeck Farm Shop is a foodie haven based on the Welbeck estate, on the outskirts of Worksop, Nottinghamshire. The shop is famed for its locally sourced, full carcass butchery counter, Neals Yard cheeses, estate walled garden produce and network of fantastic local suppliers, which creates a dream larder for our Chefs.
This is a rare opportunity to join the Farm Shop team in a brand-new role to provide first-line HR and training support to the Welbeck Farm Shop & Harley Cafe team.
This role will report directly to the Farm Shop General Manager, with dotted-line reporting to the Welbeck Head of HR.
We can be very flexible with mid-week shift times, including school-friendly hours. Occasional weekend work will be required due to the employment of weekend-only colleagues.
Duties -
Training and development, coordinate the online training including compulsory repeat training required by H&S, building and maintaining training matrices, liaising with managers.
Recruitment and onboarding, logging and sifting CV's, managing responses, arranging and conducting interviews, arranging recruitment open days, support with work experience requests and placement paperwork, carrying out staff inductions for new starters including a process for casual staff.
Employee relations - tracking sickness absence, flagging trigger points to managers, supporting sickness review meetings. Supporting managers with disciplinary and grievance meetings.
Data storage and management (training matrices and records).
Payroll - understanding of the payroll process to explain to new starters, working with the General Manager to improve current internal payroll processes/systems.
Supporting the admin team and department managers with admin and advice as required.
Regular contact and support will be available from the wider estate HR team as required.
Qualifications and experience required
Essential
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
Proficient in Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Excellent attention to detail.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Desirable
Relevant HR qualifications (e.g., CIPD).
Flexibility in availability for work (to support our 7 day a week team).
