HR Assistant
to join our dynamic team of HR professionals.
As our
HR Assistant
, you'll be the friendly and knowledgeable first point of contact for HR queries, supporting employees and candidates via phone, email, MS Teams, and in person. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth HR operations across the entire employee lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the first line of HR support, resolving queries or escalating them as needed.
Providing comprehensive administrative support from recruitment and onboarding to contract changes and leavers.
Supporting quarterly corporate inductions and conducting exit interviews.
Maintaining and updating key HR systems including Resourcelink (HRIS), Eploy (ATS), and our e-learning platform.
Assisting with recruitment campaigns, creating promotional materials, and representing our employer brand at events.
Coordinating learning and development activities, including training bookings, portal updates, and work experience placements.

About You
We are looking for an individual with a genuine interest in delivering excellent customer service and a proactive approach to problem solving to join our small HR Operations team. We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:
Strong communication and organisational skills.
A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Confidence using HR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
A genuine interest in people and a commitment to delivering excellent service.
Knowledge of recruitment practices
Good understanding of main HR policies (e.g. discipline, capability, sickness, grievance) sufficient to give basic HR advice to managers or staff
Understanding employment legislation to provide first line advice and guidance on HR operational issues including equal opportunities.
Experience of working in an administrative or system role
Experience of recruitment and onboarding
Customer service experience with good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to travel to other Runnymede Borough Council sites as required
