The Role
As HR Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting recruitment, compliance, and HR administration while also assisting with day-to-day operations. You'll be part of a collaborative team, ensuring we attract, support, and retain the very best staff for our homes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, and preparing offer documentation.
Support safer recruitment checks (DBS, references, right-to-work, safeguarding declarations).
Maintain GDPR-compliant employee records and HR systems.
Help prepare contracts, induction packs, policies, and staff handbooks.
Monitor staff probation reviews, appraisals, and mandatory training schedules.
Provide HR and administrative support during inspections, audits, or Ofsted visits.
Assist with contractor management -- booking site visits, chasing quotes, and ensuring compliance documents are up to date.
Contribute to reports, policies, and internal communications.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in HR administration, recruitment, or office support role.
Knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment practices (training provided if needed).
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with HR systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
CIPD Level 3 (or working towards qualification).
Experience in childcare, social care, or regulated care sectors.
Understanding of Ofsted inspections and compliance requirements.
Experience supporting contractor or facilities management.
